Short films
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences defines a short film as "an original motion picture that has a running time of 40 minutes or less, including all credits".
I believe that short films are good for new filmmakers because it allows them to reach a global audience on online platforms such as YouTube and Vimeo, helping them build a fan base and gain connections in the film industry. Furthermore, this would make it easier for new filmmakers to gain funding through it's global audience. It is also especially useful as short films can be best suited to a smaller crew which requires less funding, while allowing a new filmmaker to be creative.
